Jane Alderson
Principal, BATD SB OB MB
Awarded a Lifetime Honorary membership from the BATD for over 36 years of services to teaching
Jane, an ex-professional dancer who is a fully qualified teacher in both dance and pilates started JAM Dance Company in September 2000. Her aim was and still is to pass on her passion, knowledge, technical and performance skills and experience to others who wish to follow their dreams into a life in dance and performance.
Jane is extremely proud to be the creator, owner and principal of JAM. Over the years she has taught in both primary and senior schools, produced, created and choreographed numerous shows for JAM as well as other independent festivals and events.

Shevonn Maltwood
Ballet, Street, Jazz, Contemporary
Shevonn Maltwood is a dancer, choreographer, and educator with a 1st Class BA Hons in Dance and a PGCE in Post-16 Education. As a part-time dance lecturer at New City College, she is dedicated to teaching and mentoring aspiring students who aim to enter the performing arts industry. Shevonn focuses on equipping them with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to thrive in their future careers.
Shevonn’s professional experience is wide-ranging. Shevonn is specialised in delivering extra-curricular activities to young people, helping them explore and develop their talents in dance and movement. Additionally, Shevonn works as a freelance practitioner for the Royal Academy of Dance.
Her community involvement includes producing dance camps and organising events and productions for the local communities, fostering a love for dance and promoting artistic engagement.

Brittany Stevens
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Street
Brittany was first a student at JAM from 6 years old training in all styles of dance. First an assistant teacher at JAM, she then took her teacher qualification with the BATD whilst a student and has been a teacher at JAM ever since.
Brittany teaches all styles and all ages, but is our core teacher for our Tots, Primary and Senior Students.

Lily
Dance Teacher
Lily started dancing at JAM when she was 3 years old, training in all styles of dance. She is now a fully qualified teacher.
Lily teaches all across all dance styles and groups. Her core focus is the technical development of our Tots, Primary and Senior students

Michelle
Singing Teacher
Michelle is JAM’s singing teacher. She Graduated from Goldsmiths university of London in 1997 with an honours degree in music. Fully immersed in the world of music she was involved in the management of a successful worldwide pop band, music production, and music PR executive representing renowned vocalists such as Andrea Bocelli.
She now exercises her passion for music teaching in schools as well as a private educator specialising in piano, trumpet and music theory. She believes that every child has the ability to learn and express themselves through music and loves to adapt her approach to incorporate numerous different genres to maximise every student’s potential.

Rosie
Drama Teacher
Rose-Marie christian is a profession actress who has worked across Tv , film and theatre for over 17 years . Some of her credits include working with the ENO, Unicorn theatre , Channel 4 and Cbeebies . She has been teaching drama for over 10 years and really enjoys being able to ignite the same spark for acting in young people as she had when she first started.

Megan
Ballet Teacher
Megan started as a student at Jam when she was just 4 years old! She is trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern, Street, Contemporary and Pointe!
Megan has always loved her ballet. She is one of our ballet teachers who teaches our technical and exam classes

Tanaka Bingwa
Break/ Hip-hop/ House Teacher
Trained at the University of East London, graduating with first class honours. His specialised dance styles are Hip Hop, contemporary and capoeira to name a few.
Some of his credits include renowned artists such as ‘Anne-Marrie’, ‘Nile Rodgers’, ‘GHETTS’, ‘Alicai Harley’ and ‘Boy Better Know’. Furthermore, Tanaka has worked with hip hop theatre company, Spoken Movement and is a member of contemporary dance company, B-Hybrid Dance. He is also an active member of hip-hop theatre company, Boy Blue Entertainment.
Performing in productions such as 5* multiple award nominated production, ‘Blak Whyte Gray’ REDD and CYCLES. As well as teaching at JAM Tanaka has performed and choreographed on platforms such as the BBC, The Greatest Dancer and Barbican. He has also done movement direction with several universities and theatre companies.

Emily
Dance Teacher
Emily started my dance training at JAM when I was 3 years old. Emily has a degree in Dance Education.
Emily teaches all styles of dance at JAM and all our student groups. Her favourite styles are Contemporary and Tap

Ashaya
Break Teacher
Ashaya is JAM’s break dance teacher. She has danced with companies such as bboy blue, Myself uk and Norm, and has a wealth of knowledge and experience working and teaching children in schools.
Ashaya loves teaching Breaking and how complex the style is. It has given her the confidence she lacked when she was younger, which is one of the many reasons why she loves teaching Breakin, she wishes to pass on her knowledge and the confidence it gave her.

Belucha
Afro Dance Teacher
Belucha teaches our Senior students Afro dance she has trained with some of London’s biggest dance groups and has participated in many international competitions, She has also worked with Nike and JD on ad campaigns and appeared in various music videos.

Joe
Drama Teacher
Joe is one of JAM’s drama teachers. He trained at the Royal Welsh College Of Music and Drama. Joe had worked across film, television as well as theatres in the West End. Most notably in Netflix & BBC’s Get Even where Joe played high school bully Ronny Kent. Other TV & Film appearances include Call The Midwife for the BBC, Samson Kayo’s and Phil Bowker’s Sliced for UKTV and Amazon Prime’s Carnival Row and Matthew Vaughn’s The Kings Man.
